York Tire
History

ounded in 1937 by A.B. York on 6th Street in Amarillo, Texas.  York Tire started out primarily selling used tires, tubes, retreads and providing flat service.  Accumulating thousands of used tires over the years when World War II began, rubber became a hot commodity and A.B.'s business really took off.

In 1952 A.B. moved his business to E. 27th Street where he operated his tire and retread shop until 1963.  Marshall and Tommy York, his sons, purchased the business and moved it to 10th & Fillmore.  In 1971, Marshall York acquired sole ownership and formed York Tire Co. Inc.

In 1982 Marshall expanded his operations, opening stores in Lubbock, Texas and Clovis, New Mexico.  In 1984 Marshall opened an additional location in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Today York Tire Co. Inc is the largest supplier of farm tractor, implement and irrigation tires in the South Plains area covering Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. Shipping farm tires all over the United States, as far as Virginia, Montana and California.
